One-Timer: The Tony Hand Story

We have to tell this story. It is much more than just a hockey story. One can only compare it to the 2000 Academy Award Nominated blockbuster Billy Elliot. The only difference is that Tony was an ice hockey player and his story is not a work of fiction.

This is the true story of how a kid from the working class streets of Edinburgh, Scotland, one of the most remote ice hockey communities in the world went on to receive one of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s highest honors and was awarded an MBE by the Queen of England.

When a person scores over 4000 points in a professional ice hockey career, more than anyone to ever play the game, you would expect that his name would be one of the most recognized names in hockey. But when your name is Tony Hand and you are from Edinburgh Scotland that is just not the way it goes.
